GREETINGS FROM TURKIYE
A LETTER TO A DRIVER
This project was created during a two-week module led by Julia Born. The goal of the module was to write and send a letter. The students were free to interpret the brief – format, medium, and technique could be chosen and implemented independently. The only requirement was that the letter includes a sender, a recipient, and a message. During a vacation in Istanbul, I ended up stranded on the shoulder of a highway in a taxi.

My letter is addressed to that very taxi driver and recounts the experience in an elevated tone. It was translated into Turkish so that the recipient would be able to read it. In addition to the emergency blanket, I also focused on the packaging. I recreated the original design one-to-one and replaced it with my own photography as well as the German version of the letter.
