For the Bern-based theater collective “Moules Frites” we were invited to develop a visual identity for their debut play “Ein Sommernachtstraum“. The play offered a fresh, contemporary take on Shakespeare’s classic, and the visual language needed to reflect this reinterpretation. The spontaneous idea to use “Love Hearts” quickly became central to the concept. Their versatility allowed us to create a poster series in
which each heart combination conveyed a different emotional nuance. One heart was elevated to become the logo, while others appeared across social media, print materials, and even as physical sweets handed out by actors during the performance. The system was both playful and consistent, offering a recognizable, modular identity that echoed the collective’s bold and untraditional approach to theater.
